just downloaded boinc and cp and my fistt work unit
nothing seems to be moving no cpu time etc
also messages said i have reached daily quota of 2 results
but only been running prog about 2 hours
running win xp amd athalon and version 5.2.8

The must have been more error type messages in the Messages tab of the BOINC GUI. For whatever reason, your two models failed. Since your computers are hidden, I can\'t see the reason for the failure.

Hmmm. You have two -5 exit codes and one 1073807364 exit code on the three failed work units. It\'s possible that the -5 codes are due to a hardware fault, but that is not for certain. What type of antivirus software are you running. You may want to try to exclude the BOINC folder and subfolders from AV scanning. Some AV software seems to have file contention problems with BOINC/CPDN file writes.

You may already be aware of this, but in new BOINCs, the two parts, (exe and mgr), communicate via ports, and there was a thread somewhere about Zonealarm intercepting this traffic.
The ones in question are:

Ports to open for Boinc.exe: TCP 80.
Ports to open on LAN for Boinc.exe and Boincmgr.exe: TCP 1043 and TCP 31416.
