Hi,

I am attached to the project at home and would add my work computer to this accound but when attaching to project and BOINC want me to give account info, I click on existing account and entered the same mail and password I used at home, the server return an empty error (\"message from server\", and nothing in the box)

Go to your acct and setup a password and then us that instead of the acct number.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Karim,
As your computer is at work, is it behind a firewall and do you have a full access to the internet ?
Perhaps the network guy has restricted something on your machine ?!?

Arnaud, I am the network guy ! lol !

Yes the network is protected with a firewall, but I granded access to my machine (I have also a proxy server and BOINC client is configured as it will be in options, proxy tab).

I tested the BOINC in a machine directlly in the WAN (without firewall and without proxy) and I have always the same problem !

Is it possible to create a second account on my work PC and then merge them like inter-project account ?

A second account would in effect be a different person, and NOT mergable.

BOINC will need the following ports:

Ports to open for Boinc.exe: TCP 80.
Ports to open on LAN for Boinc.exe and Boincmgr.exe: TCP 1043 and TCP 31416.
In the 5.x.x versions boinc.exe also needs port 43.

In V5.*, the two parts of BOINC talk to each other via ports.

edit
Another thought:
The text in the Messages tab is also in stdoutdae.txt in the BOINC folder. And there is also stderrdae.txt for error messages.
Anything more informative in either of these?

There are a lot of posts at present on the BOINC forum, from former SETI classic users.

Does anything in <a href=\"http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thread.php?id=235\"> this thread</a> help?

Try copying the account_climateprediction.net file from your home system to the work one Karim. I\'ve never had a problem adding new systems to my account by doing that. If it doesn\'t work then you\'ve definitely got a problem connecting to the project\'s scheduler.
