the workunit I was processing is suddenly gone and was exchanged by a sulphur-workunit. And the results I already processed (still under one percent) are gone for good with no credits at all. What happened? After the previous workunit had restarted again and again now this!! I am really considering to dumb that project on my boinc. If it continues to not process it completely I rather use the processing time for projects that use it well (I have SETI, EINSTEIN and LHC and none of them makes such problems). But that would be a pity, because I think the project is very interesting. And don\'t tell me to set boinc to \"work always\". I already did that. |

There should be some message(s) that indicate what happened to that WU. You may also find some information in any of the std*.txt files in the BOINC folder. There have been some cases recently where the climateprediction program has clashed with certain other IO-intenisive applications, such as anti-virus scanners. If you do have an anti-virus app with scheduled scans, you may try to exempt the BOINC folder from being scanned. |

Your model, Result ID 1200791, crashed with an error code of 5. This is a general purpose code, so it could be due to several things; 1) a bad data set, 2) a less than 100% stable computer, 3) who knows? Model failures are quite common in cpdn, sometimes a long way into them. If it happens repeatedly in quick succession you will know, because the server will limit you to 1 data set per day, and you\'ll get a message: Daily quota reached. In which case it is DEFINITELY your computer. There is a post about hardware maintenance <a href=\"http://www.climateprediction.net/board/viewtopic.php?t=2124\"> here,</a> and test & checks <a href=\"http://www.climateprediction.net/board/viewtopic.php?t=2126\"> here.</a> This project CAN be made to work; I\'ve completed 24 slab models, and have only stopped in the middle of a longer sulphur model because I\'m now involved in a sub-project which is part of next years Experiment 2. And it\'s even longer than sulphur. |
