Hi there,

I have been trying for weeks to get a successful result and claim from one of my computers. It\'s am AMD2400 running Windows XP.

It downloads the files OK, and runs them, but when it goes to upload the results it gets an error -161 every time.

I have downloaded the latest version as of 2 days ago, and it still does this.

Any Ideas?

Cheers,

John

ERR_NOT_FOUND -161 // inconsistent client state

Don\'t know specifically what causes it but it seems something is trashed in your client_state.xml file.

Since 09 Nov. that machine went through 36 Work Units. Most indicate errors; a few show over-success-done but it isn\'t so. (That\'s from a new bug in accounting.) For those which show any CPU time at all, it\'s miniscule.

Have you detached/re-attached? Run Memtest-86 and Prime95 Torture Test recently? (Saw this on a couple of the Runs \"Exit status-5 (0xfffffffb)\" and that very often suggests a machine problem.)

As you know from your successful Runs, it takes weeks to finish a CPDN Work Unit. That machine\'s three dozen didn\'t make good starts.

Grasping at straws here, but I\'d go with the stability tests first-off.

Edit: Took another look and it seems that machine acquired a new ID yesterday and went through three more Work Units. It has healthy Benchmark numbers; is it overclocked? If so, it might be fine with some projects but CPDN can be balky on OC\'d machines.

Best of luck.

I did update the client and re-attach.

The machine is not overclocked.....

I haven\'t had any other problems... can run Einstien and SETI OK....

Someone at work suggested I check out the firewall settings in XP.....

I\'ll have to have a look at that.

I\'ll also check out the client_state.xml file and see if I can see anything wrong there.

I have totally reinstalled more than once on this machine, but it never seems to fix the problem.

Thanks

What AntiVirus software are you running on that PC. Some types have been known to cause problems with CPDN.

Win 95/98/ME are not supported by CPDN. Sorry.
