First you need to goto view computers and merge the three host into one. I suggest that you go to this link and look it over as you have 8 WUs that have errored out.... UK Nick\'s Hardware Checks BOINC Wiki |

First you need to goto view computers and merge the three host into one. I suggest that you go to this link and look it over as you have 8 WUs that have errored out.... i have merged the computers but the rest is far too techincal for me, it just sounds like my pc is not good enough to participate - why have the wu\'s errored ? is my pc that poor ? i guess lots of people are having problems as this is new so can you explain as if you were talking to a technophobe please ? i ran seti@home for years and completed loads of wu\'s and am at a loss with this new project - sorry |

geoff, The errors are due to the fact you are running Windows Millenium. Win98 and WinME don\'t work with climateprediction.net. Sorry. |

The -161 error you are getting is not unknown. For example <a href=\"http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/forum_thread.php?id=3577\">this thread</a> offers a little bit of explanation where AstroWX says Don\'t know specifically what causes it but it seems something is trashed in your client_state.xml file. But that probably won\'t help \'a technophobe\'. The answer for a technophobe would probably start by explaining how to detatch and reattach to the project. However the 3 identities makes me wonder if you have already tried that. If you are less of a technophobe than you claim, it may be worth opening your client_state.xml file and seeing if there is anything obviously wrong. It may be possible to replace that file with something that may get things working again. I\'ll go and see if I can figure out what. If someone else knows feel free to butt in. Edit: Oops didn\'t notice your operating system. Afraid geophi is correct so ignor what I said. Visit BOINC WIKI for help And join BOINC Synergy for all the news in one place. |
