Does the unit go back to the beginning of the last trickle or does it, say, go back to the start of the last day? If it goes back to the beginning of the last trickle there would be good reason to leave PC\'s on all nght as well as the day. I know this probably somewhere in the Q & P\'s but there is too many to go back though them all. Is there a search function on these message boards? |

Going backwards: There is a search function, at the top of the boards before you select one. It searches both the help, (this one), and the message boards, so no need to do it twice. Where the processing restarts will depend on where you stop. If you HAVEN\'T reached the first save point, crunching starts from the very beginning. (As it said in The Sound of Music, A Very Good place To Start!) If you DO have a save point, it restarts from there. So, if you wait until just after a save point, you lose the least amount of time. This would be a good place to try out the search facility; the subject has been raised before, and the explanation includes the day-of-month point at which the save occurs. But I can\'t remember it. Sorry. Mine runs 24/7, so I don\'t need to. |

If you DO have a save point, it restarts from there. Saves occur every three model days in slab and sulphur cpdn. Thus, as 0000 GMT (seen in the model visualization), on the 1st, 4th, 7th, 10th, etc. of each model month, a \"checkpoint\" or save occurs. When watching the visualization, you can hit the \"8\" key to see a countdown to the checkpoint. You will also see a period of more intense disk activity at this time from your hard drive\'s LED. |

Save_points, or checkpoits occur at every multiple of 144 timesteps. This is both for Slab and for Sulphur. Sulphur checkpoits have been reduced to 48 timestep multiples (1 model day), but the save_point is still the same as with slabs. (=nx144 timesteps) |
