What does status Preemted mean?

CP has now stopped processing and has just downloaded another CP workunit - but has still not stated processing the new work unit.

I am running SETI and CP - both with 50% share of processing time.

This happened shortly after SETI downloaded it\'s first work units.

it's probably crunching a seti workunit now, boinc now splits cpu time between projects based on your "resource share" settings

So if I understand correctly, BOINC does not run projects in parallel, but more accurately swaps back and forth. On average I guess it will allocate approximately 50% of the time to both projects. (Using the example from Simon255 above...)

Yes, this is correct.

It would be pretty difficult to try and allocate the number of CPU cycles alloted to a certain project if the WUs were running simultaneously. Ie: 60% of the idle CPU cycles go to CPDN, 30% go to S@H, and 10% goes to P@H.

I thnk that the bug here is that a second CPDN WU was downloaded at all. Unless he has the queue set to longer than the processing time of a single CPDN WU he should only have one at a time (except for the last few hours/days). If he did have a queue that large, I would expect S@H to slowly flood his computer with WUs.

I´m new user of SETI and CLIMATE progs and I would like to ask how can I split time between seti and climate tasks? Or does boinc automatically split it?

You can do this through the Preferences section of your Account. For example, if you set Climate to, say, 150, it would give it more procerssing time than for a value of, say, 75 given to SETI.
