Have you made any recent changes to your computer? Different drivers, different hardware? Or has the only change been the downloading of a new sulphur version? |

You have 4 computers listed if you do not have that many you need to merge them and you have had a ton of WUs that have errored out.... BOINC Wiki |

I\'m getting this same exit code from my BOINC regarding CPDN\'s project. I have 2 projects that I contribute to, SETI@home and CPDN. For me it happens while BOINC is in screen saver mode. I\'ve only seen it happen one time, but it could have happened at the time when BOINC switched between CPDN and SETI@home projects. I cannot say if it happened as a result of updating versions because I only recently joined the project. Let me know if there is any more information that would be of help. > exit code -1073741819 (0xc0000005) This has been a problem for a while, and we\'ve never been able to find the cause, let alone a cure. Best guess is that it\'s something to do with a MicroSoft program, possibly part of windows. And it\'s recommended that you DON\"T use a screen saver here. Graphics uses up cpu cycles, which can be put to better use crunching the loooong models. Finally, you are still using BOINC 4.45, which has a bug that causes the science app to not restart after a benchmark. You\'re much better off upgrading to the latest version. After suspending, exiting, and making a copy of the entire BOINC folder to somewhere else on your hd. (You never can tell if \"Murphy\" is around.) |

This message is received when the machine has already downloaded and crashed a model that day. Quotas are set in BOINC to prevent machines from downloading and crashing thousands of work units, as happened in SETI and sometimes here. If your machine is crashing the work unit immediately with the -1073741819 error, then it is probably a graphics problem. Different drivers may cure it. (Or a nice new graphics card for Christmas). But the machine may run the application happily once the application is installed. One suggestion you can try in your case is to reboot Windows into safe mode with network enabled. Then try running BOINC. If it runs you can reboot Windows normally. But as there is a quota of one a day in your case you will have to make sure that you have not already had your quota. Shut BOINC down altogether (File/Exit) until you are ready to make the experiment, or if running multi project set climateprediction to no new work in the Manager. |

I also have the same problem with computation errors with this project. I run for several hours, but have had all 6 work units crash with this problem. I have a AMD 64 3400+ cpu and can run other Boinc projects with no problem. Have stopped processing climateprediction work units unti I can resolve this issue. |

Most of the errors appear to be -1073741819 errors which have been very difficult to track down. They are Microsoft type errors and often have to do with a driver conflict. You could try updating the drivers for your video card or lan card, but I\'m not confident that will solve it. |

I, also am not confident that a driver upgrade would fix the problem. I have downloaded fixes recently and none had anything to do with Lan or Video adapter. I am also of the opinion that other projects running Boinc probably would have similar problems if it were related to driver problems!!! Oh well, I will lerk in the forum to see what else I can learn. |

... I am also of the opinion that other projects running Boinc probably would have similar problems if it were related to driver problems!!! Hi, John, At risk of coming across as arrogant/elitist/chauvinist/whatever, CPDN is not the other projects and one cannot validly assume that what gets through in other projects will get through in CPDN. To my knowledge, no other boinc project places demands on your PC as does CPDN. It\'s a long Work Unit, heavy on both CPU and HDD usage. It requires a stable machine -- after all, it\'s running a super-computer Model. (If you can make an equation/calculus between/among projects, please do; you\'d do us all a service.) The folks suggesting drivers, et al, are not without experience in which they speak. You can get away with plenty running SETI that won\'t work in CPDN. We\'d like to have you among us for a long time. Please check-out drivers, especially your video driver. (Go to the vendor site, not M$, for the latest.) Happy Holidays.
