Screen savers are set in Windows but there are two issues here. First, nothing will show unless that client is currently active. Second, CPDN is an expensive screen saver to run, depending upon your graphics card. We recommend against it unless you are running a demo or some other \"show the colors\" function. You can watch graphics from within boinc when you want to see them. "We have met the enemy and he is us." -- Pogo Greetings from coastal Washington state, the scenic US Pacific Northwest. |

If you right-click on your desktop and choose properties, the Display Properties window should pop-up. Go to the Screen Saver tab and choose BOINC. Do a \"preview\" to see if it works. This is assuming that the climateprediction.net app is running/computing when you do the preview. However, I\'m assuming you\'ve already done that, or have BOINC automatically set to your screensaver on install. The next things you could/should do is update your video card\'s chipset drivers from nvidia, ATI, S3, Intel, or whoever makes that display adaptor. Sometimes OpenGL drivers, which the screensaver uses, are not present in the default drivers installed with the system. That said, running the screensaver will likely use up a large amount of your cpu resourses (possibly more than 50 percent, depending on your video card), that could be better spent on computing the model. Edit...whoops, way too late as Astro beat me to it. |
