....wasn\'t included in Adv. vis. ? According to the
Task Manager, it\'s using about 30% CPU, will there be
a fix for this problem in the new version?
SETI seems to use only ~2%.

You have two posts here about the visualization. Which one are you talking about? There is a built in one on BOINC, and there is the Advanced Visualization that you can download from the menu on the right hand side here. The Advanced Visualization has not been working for most people and a new version should be coming in the not too distant future (hopefully).

The built in visualization uses OpenGL to display the 3D world, unlike Seti, and uses more CPU time. One would think it would primarily stress the display adaptor, but it does use the CPU. What percentage of the CPU it uses depends on your display adaptor. If you have a good nvidia type card, it uses less. Displaying it with other types of video cards can use 50% or more of the CPU.

And PLEASE title your posts with a appropriate subject line. Something like \"Visualization uses a lot of CPU time\" would help the people here helping you.
