I\'ve just finished one WU, but it\'s not OK :

Does it means that all this time was lost ?

There\'s good news and bad.
The good news is that you have a successful model. You can tell this by the graphs. And you\'ll get the full credits in due course.
So, congratulations! It\'s been a while since I\'ve seen a Mac finish a model.

The first bad news is that you won\'t get Success stamped on your report card. :(
There is a problem with the Mac software that causes the zip error AFTER everything is finished and the data is uploaded.
Carl and Tolu are aware of the problem, which is why they have acquired a Mac G5.
Now all they need is time to fiddle, compile, and test.

The second bad news is that the data sets being issued now are for 5 phase sulphur models. Which also run more slowly, but you get 160.68 credits per trickle because of this.

I\'m on a mac does this mean that the models I\'m runnig will not be of use to you due to the \'zip\'? error?

because I\'m not really interested in going to the bother of running the models to get credits I\'d sooner wait until work done is of use???

If the graphs show up on the server, and / or the message in BOINCs Messages tab says something like this:

Scheduler RPC to http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi succeeded

then the science results are OK and useful.

It\'s just that you don\'t have some extra data saved OK on your computer so that you can study the completed model. And a lot of people delete this anyway.

Hi Les,

I am on a Mac also, it finished one WU but indicated a computational error...I updated it and then finally aborted it thinking it was of no use.

Hope the Mac folks can correct that, it took a long time to complete.

Keep up the good work....

Best,

Bob
