my firewall is reporting \"A computer at IP address 137.108.64.31 has attempted an unsolicited connection to TCP port 3731 on your computer. Is that you? I\'ve allowed all the .exe files in the Program Files\\BOINC directory, non of which match the file names in your help document, by the way. frustrated! gpkiwi@msn.com |

It shouldn\'t be anything to do with BOINC as all communication should be initiated from your computer. Sorry the FAQ is out of date. The programs that should have access unblocked are boincmgr.exe and boinc.exe. The FAQ on Wiki is usually more up-to-date. Wiki installing BOINC See the Grant_Permission_For_The_BOINC_Client_Software_to_Access_The_Internet section. I say usually because I have only just updated the Wiki CPDN FAQ :oops Anyone is welcome to let me know if you see other things needing updates on the Wiki. Having said this, I doubt that firewall access is the problem in this case or the server would not know the length of time before the WU crashed. Not sure if this will help, but can I just suggest a reboot of your computer, connect to the internet and do a project update then post the messages you get in the message tab here. HTH Visit BOINC WIKI for help And join BOINC Synergy for all the news in one place. |
