I have just downloaded my first wu & it says it will take 1635 hours. Can you get smaller wu? I have a Dell 2.6 Ghz is it worth doing these asa it takes so long to complete (10 weeks) Alan |

Hi and welcome to cp.net! Well, there is nothing you could do to get a smaller WU. But 10 weeks sound a little bit too much. The time-remaining feature of the BOINC-Manager isn\'t very precice with cp-WUs, so it shouldn\'t need so much time. Hope this answered your question. Joe |

You don\'t have much memory. You will get a LOT of data swapping between ram and hd, so make sure you have \"Leave applications in memory while preempted?\" set to \'yes\' in your general preferences. It also depends on what other projects you are doing. I do not think 10 weeks is a long time, that\'s 2.5 months, 75 or so days. They have a 1 year report time, I have several running, and some are estimated to go 175 days, because the machine is doing multiple projects, etc. |
