I have a sulphur WU running on a P2.66 for some time and it refuses to send trickles. When I click \"update\" on the project, BOINC will report \"Scheduler request succeeded\", the cp website will report that the computer contacted the cp server BUT it won\'t send trickles or claim credit. The WU is now 13.6% done and 0 trickles/credit.

The BOINC manager is v5.2.7. I have an identical PC on the same net with the same version of BOINC running sulphur and it will send trickles and get credit as expected.

Any ideas on this (could it be the model executable)?

Any help appreciated - thanks.

DO you have leave in memory check yes? You could suspend it and restart or suspend and restart BOINC

Go to BOINC Work tab and click on show graphics.
Is the time changing in the graphics text?
What is the current phase and timestep, as shown in this text?

Also, you could go to Commands in the menu, and click on \"Network activity suspended\".
This will stop trickles being uploaded, and they will accumulate in the model\'s folder. If they don\'t show up at the appropriate timestep, post back and tell us.

Thanks for the replies. This is a remote computer running BOINC as a service, so I have no graphics. I think I\'ll stop the service and restart from the control panel to see what happens. This computer crashed the previous model, loaded a new one and started having this problem. Suspending and restarting from BOINC (and removing from memory) had no effect.

As the PC is literally remote, it will take me some time to get a chance to do this. I\'ll let you guys know. Thanks again.

Problem solved........

When the WU got to 20% the PC was supposed to send the mega-trickle of phase 1. Instead it got stuck at 20% and would not go forward although the WU was listed as \"running\". CPU time also wouldn\'t increase. Suspending, restarting, removing from memory, updating etc, etc, from BOINC had no effect.

So I eventually stopped and restarted the BOINC service from the control panel/services menu and this fixed the problem. The mega-trickle was sent, results of phase 1 appeared at the website and the PC has been sending trickles normally ever since. I also got all the credit I was supposed to.

As I said, the previous WU had crashed (I don\'t know why) and this apparently triggered this behavior. Never mind. I use the BOINC remote control capabilities very much to control PCs that are far from my location but it seems that still every once in a while one needs to sit on the PC console for maintenance.

Have a nice crunching day.
