Hi all. I\'m new to this but here goes....

My computer came up with a computational error ( climateprediction.net )about a week ago and since that happened I cannot download any new work. I also run seti and einstien and they are ok but not the climateprediction.net Since the error it won\'t give any new work.

Am I doing something wrong here ?

I\'m curious.

Eric

Hi, Eric, welcome to CPDN and the Boards.

That WU shows the -161 error, for attempting to upload empty files. The actual problem is likely shown in the yabsd.out file zipped in the WU folder, last few lines of the file.

Hard to say what the download problem is. What is posted in the Messages tab for the download error?

The Negative Pressure explains your crash. We\'ve seen it before but can\'t fix it.

For the failure to download, is anything posted under the boinc Messages tab?

I haven\'t been able to find any messages for it. I have tried to get more work via the update button but have not been able to. Is it worth my while detaching from the project and deleting any data and restarting with new work ?

It can reach the climate site ok but reports that its not requesting new work.

Any thoughts ?

Eric

It\'s possible the computer is over-committed. boinc won\'t allow downloads if that is the case. Are those projects able to get new work?

It\'s possible the project is set, in the Projects tab, not to get new work. If that is the case, the Status pane will say Won\'t get new work. If that is the case, simply reset using the button to the left of that page.

It\'s possible that, with the derelict result in the CPDN folder, not enough space remains to run CPDN.

If all else seems okay, you have nothing to lose by detaching and attaching again.

By the way, entries from Messages tab are archived in the boinc Folder, in stdoutdae text file. Clues as to why there are no downloads should be in there.

If the model ran for any significant fraction (or time) you most likely built up a negative LTD for CPDN. In this case once the time owed to other projects is paid back you will get more CPDN work.

I have noticed on my computers any time a CPDN workunit ends it will be a while before a new one downloads. Once you have one there is nothing to prevent it from running normally and it can build up LTD. However other projects have small outages or the computer gets in a no work fetch status briefly and won\'t download anything.

Astrowx

my C:/ drive is 80 gig and there is 45 gig free so I assume there is enough space for the work to run. The other projects are able to get more work and run them. I did reset the unit and now I am going to wait for a while to see what happens.

Keck Komputers also gave a reply so I will give it time.

Thanks for the help.

One last question. What is a -131 error? Net failure ?

From boinc error coder:
#define ERR_FILE_TOO_BIG -131

Thanks to all for the answers to my questions.

The situation is now resolved. I even know what a -131 is now aswell.

Once again, thanks to all for your help.
