Posting more post will not get any faster response, in my opinion just leave it alone and it will take care of it\'s self. You need to merge your two hosts...

The only way to \'get back\' the models that have crashed is from a backup of the BOINC folder made before the crash.
Otherwise they are gone for good.

There are no email numbers because the core team are too few and too busy to answer questions from 40,000+ people.
If you have a problem, ask on these boards.

There may be messages in the BOINC Messages tab about what happened to the second model. These messages are also in stdoutdae.txt in your BOINC folder.

If you have been fiddling with your preferences on your Acount page, you may have set it for 1 processor.
You may also have deleted the folder for one of the models.
If not, you should have two folders under:
BOINC\\projects\\climateprediction.net,
one for each of the model names it shows on your Account page.

Ok I have the 2 folders under BOINC\\projects\\climateprediction.net but there is no text in the std err file...the stdout file only says

Starting Sulphur Cycle model for ID# sulphur_idn9_100857493...
Changing to slots directory C:\\Program\\BOINC\\slots\\0

Everything looks OK folderwise but the simulation won´t appear in boinc. How do I merge my two hosts and start this second simulation that I have??? I don´t have any data left from the system crash so then it´s gone forever...too bad since my account page says what the in parameters are and there shpuld be some way to start it anyway. Thanks for your help!!!!

Perhaps the following will help to explain:

What gets downloaded from the server is NOT a model; it is a list of values to pre-set certain program variables. Other variables use the default values built in to the program.
When a data set has been sent, the server marks it as having been sent.

The program on your computer slowly creates a 3D model of the Earth\'s atmosphere using the values specified, and the only place that this \'model\' exists is in the memory of your computer, and in any backup copys of the BOINC folder / subfolders that you make.

If your model fails for some reason, and you don\'t have a backup, then there is nowhere to obtain the vaules that the model had built up to in the process of running.
When the server doesn\'t hear from your model for about 6 weeeks, it re-marks that data set as being available for re-issue. (Except where the researchers have marked it NOT to be re-issued, by changing the value of \'Server state\' to \"Over\"). The chances of YOU getting the same data set 6 weeks after the failure are rather remote.
