Can someone please give me an estimate of how much hard drive space Climatepredition.net requires for a workunit?

I am asking because my current unit is only 7.28% complete and is currently taking up 543.80 MB.

I\'m running a sulphur cycle unit on Windows XP Pro SP2 using BOINC 5.2.13

Thanks.

Somewhere between 1.2 and 1.4 GB.

It will grow to about 1GB when the first phase is done (at 20% / trickle 24), later it will still grow some but not that much anymore.

I\'m not sure how much it needs temporary while it compresses stuff as then (for a while) compressed and not yet compressed files sit there side by side

I\'m afraid the requirements are significant. While there is some compression at the end of each phase, right before the end of phase 5, the disk space taken up by a single run has grown to 2.4 GB. At the end of run, it is compressed down to .9 GB.

Thanks to you both,

I just wanted to be sure I gave it enough room to operate in. My preferences are set to allow 6GB for all my BOINC activity, as I am attached to multiple projects, but if needed I can push that up to 15GB. Looks like I will have plenty of room.

Thanks again.

Ok i have a question. Why is my sulphur WU taking up 1.37GB of HD space at 1.18% done. Atleast thats what it says CPDN is taking up under the disk tab in Boinc Manager. I only have 1 CPDN unit.

Check in the

climateprediction.net/\"experimentname\"/dataout/tmp

directory. If there are a lot of files with a .cpdn extension, then you are recording graphics to that directory. \"G\" toggles on capturing graphics files as well as toggling that function off. My guess is, it is toggled on. If that is the case, toggle it off, then delete *.cpdn in that tmp directory.

Ok so just dont delete anything else in that folder right? but anything with a .cpdn extension can be erased?
