Earlier today, Windows froze up and I forced a restart. When everything was back up and running, BOINC decided to download a new CPDN work unit as it had ceased to recognize my in progress work unit\'s files. (The CPDN work unit did not show up in BOINC\'s \"Work\" tab, though the hard drive space still shows 2.1 GB being used by CPDN.) Is there anyway to \"remind\" BOINC that I already have a work unit and get it to resume working on it?

I\'m running BOINC 5.2.13. The experiments that BOINC no longer \"sees\" are sulphur_ga3g_000759580 and sulphur_imn6_100869154.

I was ~150 hours into the ga3g experiment (with ~1500 to go).

Hi, Aaron, welcome to CPDN and the Boards.

The short answer is \"no\", they can\'t be recovered -- unless you make periodic backups. In that case, the backup folder can replace the errored folder and continue. (Restoring a backup folder is easy if CPDN is your only boinc project, messy if not.)

ga3g still shows as running but that\'s probably because there hasn\'t been a stats update since the problem.

Backups are well worth the time -- even if you never have to use one -- because one never knows...

I have been making BOINC backups on a weekly basis since I lost a CPDN WU that crashed on me at 99.8% completion.

I agree that it can be a bit \"messy\" with more than one project running. What I do is the following: I request no more work for the non-CPDN projects a day before my backup day. with this I will have a pure CPDN backup ready to restore if something is happening.
