I haven\'t received any credits for one week now, although the trickles are constantly uploaded. Incidentally the remaining time jumped from 1500 hours to 2100 hours recently. Could that be connected somehow? |

What may have happened is that some glitch (a power outage, accidental shutdown, unclean shutdown) occurred and when it did, somehow the timestep counter got reset to step 1 of phase 1, even though the CPU time keeps accumulating. If this is the case, you will probably be somewhere in phase 1 (you were in phase 2 on your last recorded trickle) with a very large sec/TS value on the graphic, and unrealistic time to completion. Options are, * continue crunching. You will accumulate no new trickles and obtain no new credit until after you pass the point of your last trickle. * reset the project which will download a new work unit that you will gain credit for immediately (almost) This has happened to me a couple times, and others occasionally as well, so you are not alone. Very frustrating. |

It happens actually all the time that the PC shuts down suddenly. I think it happens mainly, when switching between CPDN and SETI, after a workunit was completed. If I reset, will there be any value for the overall project? Or will all the work done until now be lost? |

One more thing: When I start BOINC, the counter shows the remaining time to be 1700 hours. And then after a second or so, the counter jumps to 2200 hours. |

If you are into this primarily for the credits, you should reset. If you are into it primarily for the science, keep running it. Even if resetting, at least some of the information sent back was valuable as the scientists are interested in the results from phase 1 for use in the coupled model experiment that is upcoming. |
