Hello, I am running a P4 2.6 ghz that is hyperthreaded and realized the cruncher was using only 50% of the cpu. Will it eventually use all cpu power when I leave the computer idle? I tried setting my preferences to use multiprocessors with a value of 2 and it started another cruncher and both used total of 99% of cpu. I just hope it uses all the cpu power while the PC is idle so it don\'t go to waste. |

In multiprocessor systems it shows 100 / number of processors. So an HT machine has 1 real processor and 1 virtual processor. Each processor is used 100%, but it shows as 50% usage when 1 is used, because half your processing speed is used. When you have 4 it shows 25% each, etc. That is the normal way for it to work. |
