To Admins:

Anyone know what happens if you are already a registered BONC user and want to run the CPDN/ BBC project just announced ? http://bbc.cpdn.org.index.php.

It seems to be a separate download, so one assumes it is like running a completely separate project.

Anyone care to confirm?

regards

Yes, it is a separate project.
There should be the same thing run here, but it hasn\'t been discussed yet,
1) because those of us who have known about the BBC project have been sworn to secrecy, and
2) the core team have been up to their eyebrows with testing, etc, for the BBC launch, and haven\'t had time to go into details.
And this is also why nothing has been done to fix the sulphur problems.

It may not even have credits associated with it, as it is meant for the general puplic, who don\'t know anything about DC projects, BOINC, credits, etc.
It\'s now mentioned on our front page, and is being discussed openly in the php forums.

More soon. Hopefully.

With version 5.x.x clients you can attach with the client wizard. Just provide the URL and select new account.

Existing BOINC users should not use the download button as the BOINC versions are different. The team have now suggested on the other board that the coupled model will be offered in CPDN.

It may be better to wait for clarification.

Don\'t use the download from that site, just attach to the project using normal BOINC client. The url is http://bbc.cpdn.org/

or you can wait until you can get them from climateprediction.net without having to attach to another project. (I don\'t know how long that will be.)

Carl has just told me that bbc.cpdn.org credits will NOT count towards BOINC totals, so if you care about these, its probably worth waiting for the same experiments to be distriubuted here (in a few days or so, once everything has settled down a bit)
