I have just started to run a sulphur model today. thought I would run the BBC model as well but it looks like it has removed my sulphur model. I assume from this that you can\'t run both!! Fortunately my sulphur model has been runnung for less than hour so I hope I haven\'t wasted to much of your time! I have removed the bbc application as I was quite happy to run the sulphur model how do i get this back or do I start again? |

The BBC project is separate to this sites project. They are running a \'cutdown\' version of BOINC. To run sulphur from here, AND the TCM from the BBC, you need to use this sites BOINC, and just attach to the BBC site, the same as, say, attaching to SETI, LHC, etc. And the TCM, (experiment 2), will soon be available here as well. |

I just had the same trouble with the bbc version. I removed the bbc version then restored my computer to a few days ago. Everthing is up and online ok. Is it worth the effort of getting the bbc version attached to my system ? Or do I hold off and stay with my current work ? |

I\'d be inclined to run the coupled (BBC) model on its own, given its size. The exception would be people with dual core processors, but for most of us that requires another upgrade. When the sulphur model is finished it will be clear what the project wants tackling next, and it might well be a coupled model anyway. |

Eric Tricky question. The TCM will be available here \"soon\". What no one knows, is the definition of \"soon\" in this case. I guess that the two programmers are catching up with lost sleep, doing the 20th Feb interviews, putting up with irate emails, and keeping on eye on the BBC project to look for signs that the model has bugs that weren\'t picked up during alpha and beta testing. They may even have had some time to put into finalising the model for here. All I can say for sure, is that it will happen. But starting a BBC model will be almost the same as running one here. The only difference that I know of at the moment, is that the BBC project is credited separately. You can see that here in BOINCstats, 2nd and 4th projects in the list. edit Beaten to it again. :) |

Eric Thankyou both for your replies ( Les Bayliss and Andrew Hingston ). In view of the information I will let things be on my existing account and put the BBC on my wifes computer instead as it needs to run on its own. She has not got any work on hers so it will get better time on that. Once again, thanks for the info. |
