Wow! Nice works team CP! Your screensaver is really nice. On my laptop, the screensaver freezes (around of 50%) when the video revert back to desktop and/or to blank screen. It runs fine otherwise. Toshiba Satelite 2400 with the latest BIOS (v1.40) S3 SuperSavage/IXC1179 video card Windows Longhorn 4074 Problem is (possibly) not with OpenGL drivers intalled on my OS because I also get another OpenGL screensavers who runs fine on my system. The only way to restore the display is to toggle between LCD, CRT and TVOUT modes (Fn-F5). |

Hi, when you run the graphics "regular" (not screensaver), i.e. in the GUI right-click on a workunit and "Show Graphics", does it display OK? If that's fine going back and forth (i.e. opening & closing the smaller graphics window) perhaps it's a problem with the BOINC screensaver "engine." Did you copy the new boinc.scr from our 4.02 distribution to your windows/system32? I wonder if it's using an older BOINC installation (assuming you were using 3.x etc) that was in windows/system32? |

Can minimize/maximize/resize window without any problem. Of coarse, I cannot test it in full screen video mode. > If that's fine going back and forth (i.e. opening & closing the smaller graphics > window) perhaps it's a problem with the BOINC screensaver "engine." I think the problem must with the BOINC.scr engine not with the CP software. The bug should occurs when the OpenGL driver release display control to Windows. Boinc.scr is a full screen OpenGL application and regular graphics must be a windowed OpenGL application (not sure for the latest). > Did you copy the new boinc.scr from our 4.02 distribution to your windows/system32? I found something. May be useful for debugging. If I disable all DirectDraw and Direct3D accelerations, as well as all cursor and advanced drawing accelerations, all is working fine. Naturally, refreshing rate is very slow without these hardware accelerations. |
