I upgraded to Boinc 4.05 and because nothing happening with seti@home at the moment (tech probs) I decided to load climatePrediction. Did all the stuff I should (I think!) and here are the download results. I run Win XP Pro 2.8GHz Pentium 4 256M RAM

Hi Robert,

For some reason you're getting corruption on the download of the project's programs, and looking at your computers you've tried 4 times today which means you'll have reached your daily quota limit :(

Most of the download problems seem to have been on dial-up connections, although I also had a couple when I had a limit on the dowload rate.

Oh - Maybe it did not like being on 4.05 (as required by seti) since it was using 4.03 by the looks of it. I'll try again after it is up and running again. Looks like an issue to solve for the future.

Hi Robert,

Version numbering is a bit confusing!

The BOINC version you download from the CPDN site is 4.05, but the CPDN client programs are all version 4.03 (i.e. the ones you were attempting to download).

Still happening today. Can download again, but the same errors. I have a solid ADSL connection with no problems. Never had issues with SETI, and it is back up and working fine. Just downloaded a bundle of files and it is working on them without issue.

Hi, are you running with CPDN now? I changed the webservers to "KeepAlive" so I think that will make for more reliable downloads.

I'm seeing exactly the same problem:

climateprediction.net - 2004-09-02 07:57:57 - Started download of hadsm3se_4.03_windows_intelx86.zip
climateprediction.net - 2004-09-02 08:01:03 - Giving up on download of hadsm3se_4.03_windows_intelx86.zip: File downloaded was not the correct file or was garbage from bad URL

climateprediction.net - 2004-09-02 08:01:03 - Checksum or signature error for hadsm3se_4.03_windows_intelx86.zip

All other parts download without problems. Oh, and I'm using a cable modem, not dialup.

May have been coincidental. I reset the project yet again yseterday and it has worked fine ever since. It is working on CP and seti just fine now. It will be interesting to see what happens when the next work unit comes in, but that will be a while!

Seems that there are some bugs around that are nothing to do with the broadband links. Seti downloads were just fine once they started and my other PCs were crunching old style seti work units constantly over that time. No errors. I can only conclude that since others are getting these errors, there is something a little screwed up with CP - seti Boinc has worked throughout without a error.

For those processing both seti and Boinc, the system works on them alternatively so once both types of work units (seti & CP) are loaded, you might not see activity on CP for many hours, then it will toggle to the other work unit type.
