I used to do climateprediction on BOINC, but I found that it was so unreliable and frustrating that I moved to WCG, which is sponsored by IBM and run professionally by United Devices. Recently WCG has begun to run BOINC projects as well. The first project we ran was the Human Proteome Folding project, which is finished for the time being and which was completed in twelve months with countless thousands of computer years. Presently there are many thousand computers working on Aids research. I am informed that climate prediction would meet the objectives of WCG and suggest that somebody in the project team should investigate and maybe submit a project proposal so that I could come back!!! |

cpdn is a BOINC project and will stay that way. However, experiment 2 will start soon, running the TCM model, similar to what is currently running on the BBC project. |

cpdn is a BOINC project and will stay that way. But the BBC project uses BOINC. There are so many acronyms in your posting that it means little to me, but I think it means that there is no chance that WCG will be used for climate prediction. This is unfortunate, as besides my machine there are 270 thousand machines in WCG but I am confident that there are other projects in the pipeline where people have the vision to see the benefits. |
