Running BOINC 5.3.19 on win 2000 (sp4) Installed it yesterday & had to do a few forced reboots as other programs have been installed. Noticed that since the install it\'s used an additional 200+mb of disk space, the \"disk\" tab reports 347mb (no idea if this is related?) I have several restart.* files that are 17+mb each & was wondering if these were created because of the reboots & can they be deleted? if so how? is this automatic or manual? thanks |

For some reason you now have 3 computer IDs, each with a model. It may have to do with the reboots. If you can, go into the menu and select Suspend, wait for the model\'s status to say Suspended, and THEN do a reboot. You can manually delete all folders for models not in the Tasks tab. You can also go into your account page and click on: View computers On the next page, click on: Computer ID At the bottom of this page, click on: merge this computer This will allow you to merge all of the \'computers\' into one appearance. |

Thanks for your answer, sort of helped but I currently have this directory structure - projects └──www.climateprediction.net ├──sulphur_in7g_200869884 │ ├──datain │ │ ├──ancil │ │ │ └──ctldata │ │ │ ├──stasets │ │ │ └──STASHmaster │ │ └──dumps │ ├──dataout │ ├──jobs │ └──tmp ├──sulphur_inuj_200870715 │ ├──datain │ │ ├──ancil │ │ │ └──ctldata │ │ │ ├──stasets │ │ │ └──STASHmaster │ │ └──dumps │ ├──dataout │ ├──jobs │ └──tmp └──sulphur_io6d_200871141 ├──datain │ ├──ancil │ │ └──ctldata │ │ ├──stasets │ │ └──STASHmaster │ └──dumps ├──dataout ├──jobs └──tmp In the \"Tasks\" tab I only have the option to suspend \"sulphur_inuj_200870715\", the other 2 I can only resume (BUT I can see them in the Tasks tab!). Can I delete these 2 directories then or do I still have to suspend the running one, reboot then delete all suspended? thanks |

In the \"Tasks\" tab I only have the option to suspend \"sulphur_inuj_200870715\", the other 2 I can only resume (BUT I can see them in the Tasks tab!). I would expect you to have another button in the tasks tab called \'abort\' (but I am running a slightly different version of BOINC from yours). The normal way of getting rid of workunits you do not want is to click on them and then on abort. Then you can delete the relevant directories manually; you would not have to close BOINC but it would do no harm to do a backup of the whole BOINC/Experiment folder anyway, which would require that the program is closed. You should not need a reboot. If you are wondering how to start the program manually and do not have a desktop icon create one (use send to desktop). |
