I run my home machine on Dialup - and it only generally connects once a day - is this going to cause a problem ... i.e. :-> 23/02/2006 09:45:37|climateprediction.net|Fetching master file 23/02/2006 09:45:38||Couldn\'t resolve hostname [www.climateprediction.net] 23/02/2006 09:45:42|climateprediction.net|Master file fetch failed 23/02/2006 09:45:42|climateprediction.net|Too many backoffs - fetching master file 23/02/2006 11:34:32|climateprediction.net|Result sulphur_incd_200870061_0 exited with zero status but no \'finished\' file 23/02/2006 11:34:32|climateprediction.net|If this happens repeatedly you may need to reset the project. 23/02/2006 11:34:32||request_reschedule_cpus: process exited 23/02/2006 11:34:32|climateprediction.net|Restarting result sulphur_incd_200870061_0 using sulphur_cycle version 422 23/02/2006 13:18:54|climateprediction.net|Fetching master file is there a way to get it to upload via a proxy [I have a couple of linux based machines on my lan / mail / firewall sort of thing] |

You can run the project off-line for some time \'Commands/Network activity suspended\', and then attach it every now and then (say once per month). There\'ll be a lot of traffic built up, so best to borrow a broadband connection when you need to upload. If you have a home lan, and one machine has a broadband connection, you can share it in several different ways (NAT, winGate, ...) I'm a volunteer and my views are my own. I have also fiddled with the home paramters Thanks |
