Hi, I have just installed \"climate prediction\" on a few computers (all running windows xp) and they all seem to be running fine so far. I have to move everything off one machine however and clean it up and re-install things in order to give the machine to someone else, etc. I was wondering if there was a simple way to move off the installation of \"climate prediction\" from that one machine and onto another in a clean way in order to save the work ? The status of the work done so far on that machine is about 100 plus hours of cpu time completed versus a projected estimate of circa 1,000 more hours yet to go before completion of the work package for climate prediction. In comparison to this - I only have a couple of weeks maximum remaining before I have to clean up the machine for its next owner, etc I\'d hate to lose the partial amount of work that has been done on that machine so far. Can anyone help / suggest anything ? Many Thanks. Matt. |

If you are running only climateprediction it ought to be straightforward. Essentially, all you need to do is move the whole BOINC folder to the new machine, install BOINC into that folder, and you should carry on where you left off. If you use a CD/DVD for the transfer, you will need to reset the write permissions first. If you are running other projects besides CPDN/BBC, run down their cache first. |
