You probably have either a dual core or a \'hyperthreaded\' CPU. In the case of dual core, you can use the second core by running another model (set \'multiprocessor machines: use 2 cpus\' in your options). In the case of Hyperthreaded machines, the 50% is misleading, it\'s actually abuot 85% since the secondary thread is very much less powerful than the first thread. But if you want to use it anyway, the above change will also let two models run on your machine. I'm a volunteer and my views are my own. News and Announcements and FAQ |

Where are these settings If running regular CPDN, they are in \"Your account\", accessed from the link on the left of this page. If the bbc.cpdn thing, go to \'My Details\', then \'advanced users\' at the bottom of the page... The model being run on the BBC, is the same as that which has just become available here. (Finally! We\'ve been waiting ages for it.) There are 3 parts to computers: The hardware The software The human using it. The vast majority of the problems being experienced by Joe Public trying to use the BBC project are not caused by the climate modeling software. |

In this project, at least half of us are experienced computer people. And lots of us have been running these models for years. So if you\'re experiencing problems, tell us about them, and we\'ll sort things out. |
