I have two computers that are processing CPDN: 30846 (Work) and 179686 (Home). The Work computer is currently processing WU 1103108, the Home computer WU 545152.

However, both WUs are credited to the (slower) Work computer. The Home computer\'s current WU will finish within a few days, and I would like to correct that situation. But how do I do that? Is there any xml file I cane edit, or will uninstalling/reinstalling BOINC correct the situation?

(The probable reason why the Home computer \"thinks\" it is the Work computer is that I started to use BOINC on that system trying to finish a WU that crashed on my Work computer).

You could try detaching and then attaching again from your home PC once it\'s work unit is done, this will create a new computer ID. Then you can try merging the original ID with whichever PC you want to register the original work to (can\'t guarantee this\'ll work though).

The WU has now successfully completed, and interestingly the whole credit has now been granted to the correct computer 179686.

However I didn\'t know that, and followed Mike\'s suggestion, detached and attached again to CPDN. It did create a new computer id, and it does now run a new WU.

Question: can I merge the new computer id with the previous one while the WU is running? Or will that again cause a problem?

Should not be a problem.
