I signed up for this project yesterday after having been processing for both seti and einstein for quite a while now.

Created an account, downloaded and installed the lib files for my mac, attached successfully in Boinc manager but every time I try to download some work I get a message saying \'No work available. Work is available for other platforms\'

Is this usual or have I done something wrong?

Any advice would be a great help.
Thanks

The team have not been able to get the latest experiments to run under the Mac OS. But Mac could run the sulphur experiment, which is still current, and I have not seen anything from the team on whether they will be generating new WUs for Mac users there. It\'s worth remaining attached and to keep an eye on the boards for an announcement. The devs are overstretched as always, and lack of response should not be taken negatively.

When one signs up for CPDN (the one here, not the BBC or Seasonal spinoffs), is one automatically able to get these? Or does one have do change one\'s profile?

(I sound like Cobalt. I\'ve been running SETI and Einstein, I got a G5, and now I\'d like to run some CPDN WU\'s. However, I can\'t get a WU. I have a G5 2.3GHz that stays on, so a Sulphur model should be OK on mine. )

Thank you.

Not being a part of the \'core team\', I can only guess.
But I *think* that the supply of data sets for the Mac model has been allowed to run down. Some of the few people running Macs have posted on the Mac board that their models kept crashing.

The Mac software is still on the downloads page, but the technical requirements has been removed from the Tech_faq page.

Not much else I can say, except: perhaps in the future.

Carl, the project chief software engineer has now said that there will be no further work for the Mac OS.

\'We have all the slabs & sulphurs we\'ll need and it would just be a waste of electricity. I\'m afraid the only hope for CPDN Mac\'s in the future would be Intel Macs: (a) if I can ever convince anyone to get us one and
(b) if we ever have the time, although from what I\'ve heard it should be a lot similar to our Linux builds since Intel Fortran for the Mac is available (Intel Fortran is what we use on Windows & Linux)\'

that is unfortunate. cpdn was an interesting project. guess we mac users will take our wasted electricity elsewhere.
