My model finished successfully on the evening of march 26th, but no new model was downloaded. The messages don\'t indicate a problem, and say \'No new work requested\' in the note section. What\'s going on?

I don\'t see any problem based on your account info, is \'no more work\' set against the project by any chance? What happens if you press \'update\'?

The model that you have just finished was a \'slab\'.
The project has moved on a bit since then; first sulphur, and now experiment 2: the Coupled Ocean model.

The only thing that I see that may be a problem, is that you have less than the new minimum amount of memory for this, which is 512M.
But It\'s possible that you also have an older 4.* version of BOINC. The new 5.* version is recommended.
The latest public release is 5.2.13

And TCM is a LOT longer than the slab model. 160 years of it. But it doesn\'t take up as much disk space, and doesn\'t leave a residue after it finishes. PROVIDED that it doesn\'t crash, in which case, it\'s likely that there will be some debris.

There may be other messages that will give you a reason for no download.
If you\'d like help with them, copy and paste them here.

Thanks for the replies. I have tried update a couple of times with no downloads. The messages I get are:

3/27/2006 8:00:08 AM|climateprediction.net|Sending scheduler request to http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi
3/27/2006 8:00:08 AM|climateprediction.net|Reason: Requested by user
3/27/2006 8:00:08 AM|climateprediction.net|Note: not requesting new work or reporting results
3/27/2006 8:00:13 AM|climateprediction.net|Scheduler request to http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi succeeded

Memory could be the problem. I\'m not sure what the new minimums are. I am running boinc 5.2.13

Also, Mike I don\'t have the \'no new work requested\' listed in notes. just \'not requesting new work\'.

\'No new work\' is the label on a button in the Projects tab. It changes to \'Allow new work\' once it\'s been clicked.

Maybe I can\'t run the new models on this machine.

The new messages are just saying that everything\'s fine, but that BOINC has more than enough work on hand now, and won\'t be getting any more until it finishes what it has.

There\'s a section in the BOINC Wiki about these messages. Just click on the numerous links for lots more.

Thank you very much for your help. This is a great project, and I would hate to have to leave it.
