What\'s going on?
Same message yesterday after installing BOINC and trying to start the project, on a clean new laptop, with the exception that it stated \"(reached daily quota of 2 results)\" instead.

I used to have SETI@home running for many years until BOINC took over and gave me constant problems connecting and dwlding or uploading results. I think the problem was more one of SETI@home servers than BOINC, but had some other issues too with BOINC. That was 2 or 3 years back.
I decided to try out BOINC again because I wish to use it for the climate prediction project now. I was thinking that if it works out fine now, I will recommend it to be installed on all our computers at the environmental organization that I just started to work at, BUT, it did not start good at all and I\'m already considering not recommending it, or the project. By looking at the messages, it again seems more like a problem of the project servers than actually BOINC, so I guess BOINC is just fine though.

So, what\'s going on here? Is the project constantly having problems with their servers?
I read in old forum posts of many server problems before an if the rest of you who have been participating in this project can tell me how the project is usually running that would be great help for me in my decision. And, of course, explanation to the log.

The problem is at your end.
From your messages, (thanks for posting these, it tells the story):

( - exit code -1073741819 (0xc0000005))

This error code indicates a graphics problem. It may be possible to fix it by updating the driver for your graphics chips to the latest version from the maker\'s web site. Even a new computer can have old drivers.
It can also be caused by a conflict with other programs that use graphics heavily.

Also, with a laptop, there is a problem with cooling , because this program will run your processor chip flat out for weeks on end.
So it\'s recommended that the case be lifted above the surface to allow a good air flow.

The quota is to stop computers with a problem from continually downloading and crashing, and thereby quickly draining the data set pool.
