I had two models running -hadcm3lb_4tm8_05012988_0 and hadcm3lb_5icl_05045041_0. The first model exited with exit code 99 (0x63) at 11.23.57, the second, with the same exit code, at 11.29.44. Can anything be done to recover these models? I have backup from three days ago, but don\'t know if it would help. Can anyone help me, please? ![]() |

Hi, Please read this important note: http://www.climateprediction.net/board/viewtopic.php?t=4697 So, don\'t use your backup and download the new models Arnaud |

Further to this, error code 99 is a \"killer trickle\" sent out to those who have the incorrect file in the note above. It simply forces a \"user abort\" so that a corrected workunit can be downloaded. |

Hi, Hi! I\'ve heard about this \"killer trickles\" sent out automatically. May I also force these trickles to receive, i.e. via the update-Button, or do I have to wait until my Model reaches the next trickle point at 1st of December? Personally, I updated manually, but I didn\'t receive these killer trickles, perhaps due to the fact that my model has nothing to report. I\'m in April, and it feels strange to know that currently my Model calculation is useless for this day, until it reaches 1st of December... Are ALL \"old\" hadcm3lb-Models affected? When are trickles sent exactly? (Sometimes it took much longer than 1st of December to report...) Questions, questions... Thanks for your \"honesty\"! |

Hi, you can manaually \"Abort\" your workunit, and wait (or click \"Update\") to get a new workunit and any other needed new files. You don\'t have to wait for the regular trickle which will morph into a \"killer trickle.\" Trickles happen once per model-year on the hadcm3l coupled model project, i.e. usually once per day if you run \"24/7\" and have a reasonably new computer. I have renamed the workunits to be \"hadcm3lbm\" (on the BBC site \"hadcm3ln\") so it\'s easy to tell these apart. Sorry for the inconvenience! |

Thanks for quick reply, I guess, Carls fingers are almost \"glowing\" now... ;-) I guess, especially next week - after vacations - the forum will be flooded with requests like this... So, back to the future! (of 1920) (?) |

Update: Right now my Model crashed with exit code 99 (yeah!), although no trickle has been transmitted (as far as I can see from my message tab); So it seems, that a manual update of the project also works - at least for me. Good to know! |

Thank you all for the help. I hadn\'t known about the problem with the models. Knowing my models have been killed, rather than dying accidentally, is a great comfort. I\'ll get Climate to update, then wait for new models. ![]() |
