I have the problem as many others that climateprediction.net won\'t download any work unit. |climateprediction.net|Message: No work sent |climateprediction.net|Message: (there was work but you don\'t have enough disk space allocated) |climateprediction.net|Message: No disk space (YOU must free 10.3 MB before BOINC gets space). Review preferences for minimum disk free space allowed. Now, what I don\'t get is that since I have two partitions (C-Drive with 9.9Gb free and E-Drive with 5.3 Gb free) there should be space for CPDN to use. Can anyone help me out here. I have a similar problem with LHC@home and Einstein@Home. The only one that seems to be working well is SETI@Home...which has been running without problems for a few years now... VERY grateful for help... |

The amount of free space on your machine and where it\'s located is immaterial. It\'s the amount you allow boinc to use that matters. That is controlled in \'Your account\', found at the left of this page, in Preferences. Post the following info from your preferences; Disk and memory usage Use no more than 10 GB disk space Leave at least 0.1 GB disk space free Use no more than 85% of total disk space Write to disk at most every 300 seconds Use no more than 75% of total virtual memory BOINC Wiki |

Your problem is with the highlighted line. Disk and memory usage Use no more than .01 GB disk space Leave at least .02 GB disk space free Use no more than 25% of total disk space Write to disk at most every 60 seconds Use no more than 25% of total virtual memory I'm a volunteer and my views are my own. Yes, measured in gigabytes, the climate project uses about 0.6 Gigs. This is not one of the tiddlers like SETI, etc. This is the Earth\'s atmosphere that\'s being modeled, in 3D, at half hour intervals, plus one hour intervals for the ocean, all for a period of 160 years. It divides the atmosphere into cells, with a horizontal resolution of 2.5° in latitude by 3.75° in longitude, and has 19 vertical levels in the atmosphere, and 20 in the ocean. It needs elbow room! |

Yes, measured in gigabytes, the climate project uses about 0.6 Gigs. This answers my question too. Funny how I missed how big it was...they kinda...sgade that away. They really like your help crunching numbers but me I couldn\'t have dreamed it would take 600 MB for a single package. been crunching for Seti since 1999. But I just signed up and will now suspend because my system is slow and doesn\'t have the room for such packages until I upgrade my HD. So I will try again in a couple of months. When I have a faster Dual Core machine with plenty of RAM and space on drive. |
