I would like to be able to run one wu using the 2 cpu\'s on my machine rather than having to process two wu\'s at a time.

If you have 2 cpu's this is not possible a model can only run on 1 cpu,
However if you have a P4 with HT then you can goto preferences page and change the number of cpu's to 1, Reboot go into BIOS and turn off HT save and reboot, BOINC should start running 1 model.

The model would have to be rewritten and recompiled to take advantage of parallel processing for one model. With one million lines of code (fortran), this will not likely happen.

the model has parallel code in for clusters (openmp) and supercomputers, but for something like a PC it would be too complex and timeconsuming, as well as "violate" boinc (since boinc should be one app/workunit-per-cpu)

I think this would be great for the upcoming Dual-Core Opterons in 2005. ;-)
