Following on from the success of the project open day in 2004, and the Royal Society exhibit last year, we\'ve decided to make this summer\'s project open day a \'virtual\' one - both so that more participants have a chance to be involved, and because getting all the project staff in the same place at the same time over the summer would be nigh on impossible! Key project staff and students (Myles, Carl, Tolu, Dave Frame, Dave Stainforth, Nick, Duncan, Kuniko, Hiro, Pardeep, Ben, Daniel, Sylvia) will be recording talks which will be put up on the web site from the end of July. Between now and 12th July, please post questions/ comments here that you would like to see addressed in the talks, and we\'ll do our best to cover them. Hopefully, the boards will also provide opportunities for discussion after the talks are broadcast |

Hi, Sylvia, Seems a really good approach -- from the perspective of one eight time zones away. To get things rolling: 1. General how-goes-it, from both science and processing perspectives, for each project. 2. CPDN\'s future as seen from Staff\'s varied perspectives. 3. Any prospects for more staff/computer power? 4. We\'ll definately cover the first 3, but probably not the last (there\'s really not much to see in our \'dungeon\'!) |

Good stuff Sylvia. Thanks to all those who asked questions and to those members of the project contributing to the presentations. Open Day 2006 Presentations |

I\'m having trouble hearing the conversation/presentations. For the first two videos, I cranked the sound up to the maximum in Windows Media Viewer and in the system tray, then had to really crank up the speaker sound to make anything out. I don\'t imagine there\'s anyway to up the volume level in the recorded presentations? Anyone else having this problem? |

I really enjoyed the presentations. Well done to all involved. It gave me an insight into cpdn and the cpdn team, it made it more real - more of a human feel to the project rather than yet another web site, and a program running in the background. On the downside: I wasn\'t particularly bothered with the video quality, but it would have helped with a bit more audio clarity - can this cleaned up? Congratulations on the virtual Open Day, I hope to see more in the near future, and I also hope that you can encourage other projects to do something similar. However, there is quite a bit of background \"noise\" and distortion. (Used built-in speakers in the monitor for this machine; didn\'t try external speakers on other machines.) It\'s a bit difficult for me to hear-understand some parts for first two presentations even on external speaker...partty due to my language limitation. Third one is fine...haven\'t watched others yet. phpBB forum for CPDN, all are invited |

Hi HOTVTSS, welcome to the forum. Could I suggest that if you want to chat to other members, a better place to post would be the Cafe. Cpdn news |

Welcome aboard, 爱喝金银花! May we help you with something? How to get started, perhaps? (Unfortunately, we have no Asian language translations on the site.) "We have met the enemy and he is us." -- Pogo Greetings from coastal Washington state, the scenic US Pacific Northwest. |
