today when i looked at some teamstats i noticed negative recent average credits and a dropdown in total credit. How is this possible or is it normal that this happens? an example: http://boincstats.com/charts/chart_uk_cpdn_object_new_teams_148.gif thanks in advance, Sava |

It\'s something to do with the way BOINCstats works when the credits xml doesn\'t show up for a while. I think that Willie posted a message about it last year on his site. |

The negative numbers would seem to be because nobody can check in perhaps? I have not been able to go to the main page, and am a little surprised there isn\'t any discussion of the pronlem. My BOINC client hasn\'t made contact with CPDN in three days. Charles |

I haven\'t seen any problems with the site in the last few days, what happens when you update? (i.e., on the messages page) I'm a volunteer and my views are my own. News and Announcements and FAQ |

CPDN grants credit based on a script that runs occasionally, twice a day I think. Sometimes a finished model will have extra credit granted when returned. The next time the script runs that extra credit is removed. Also since credit is calculated by this script when a member leaves a team their credit leaves too. seafsee Which main page? Here, or at BOINCstats? Which problem do you want discussed? \"No contact for 3 days\" may be at your end. If you right click the globe icon in the bottom right of the screen, which network option is selected? Are you still using BOINC version 4.45? The new Coupled Ocean models need a 5.* version. |

seafsee Sorry it has taken this long to reply. I was not able to access CPDN for close to a year with either IE6 or ForeFox. This eventually inclyded this forum! My model had crashed and I was unable to get new work and I was also unable to update the BOINC client due to a Windows Installer issue which still exists. I eventually installed the newer BOINC client on another machine and physically moved the files to this PC. I still experienced problems accessing CPDN pages whilst on Verizon DSL and began wondering if the issue was an ISP related one. Ironically, I eventually made contact while on dial-up! Since then there have been few problems except for heat-related ones. |

If you can\'t get to this forum for any reason, you can always try the independent cpdn one. Get to it thro my signature. You have to register separately there. It\'s in fact a good idea for everybody to know where it is so that if ever a server outage puts this forum beyond reach, you can still get to another cpdn forum for news or advice. Cpdn news |

There was a dispute between Verizon and the main French ISP about a year ago, such that neither were passing \'net traffic to the other. There was a lot of \'talk\' on various boards, possibly mostly the BOINC site\'s, about various proxy servers that could be used to get around the problem. SETI, in America, was hard to access from Europe at the time, as the ISP for the U of C, Berkeley, (which houses SETI), was Verizon. Backups: Here |
