Hi, The messages below have been appearing in the last 24 hours \"reached daily quota of 2 results\" and no new wu is downloaded. What does it mean please? 09/08/2006 04:07:10|climateprediction.net|Sending scheduler request to http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi 09/08/2006 04:07:10|climateprediction.net|Reason: Requested by user 09/08/2006 04:07:10|climateprediction.net|Requesting 172800 seconds of new work, and reporting 1 completed tasks 09/08/2006 04:07:15|climateprediction.net|Scheduler request succeeded 09/08/2006 04:07:15|climateprediction.net|Message from server: No work sent 09/08/2006 04:07:15|climateprediction.net|Message from server: (reached daily quota of 2 results) Many thanks, David |

You\'ve recently had some models crashing after a long time running without crashing. Do you know if anything changed in the last couple of days? (i.e., new version of Antivirus, etc). http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/results.php?hostid=461987 <core_client_version>5.4.9</core_client_version> <stderr_txt> (null): cannot open input file dataout/atmos_restart.day (null): cannot open input file dataout/ocean_restart.day Fatal crash! :-( </stderr_txt> <message> <file_xfer_error> <file_name>hadcm3lbm_8o7o_25173895_0_1.zip</file_name> <error_code>-161</error_code> </file_xfer_error> To answer your question, there is a limit to the number of new work units which can be picked up per day. This is to prevent hosts churning through thousands of units if they\'re crashing for some reason. There are some suggestions in the \'questions and answers / windows / Solutions to models crashing\' thread. I'm a volunteer and my views are my own. News and Announcements and FAQ |

Thanks. The only thing I can think of is putting the computer in \'sleep\' mode a couple of times. I have been using ZoneAlarm Pro a/v for years now without a problem. 1) May I ask how I can delete old cpdn data from my drive? Or is it best to reinstall cpdn, if so do I simply delete the project folde \"climateprediction.net\" and then re-install? Of course I would like my credits retained! :-) 2) I am now getting: 10/08/2006 09:22:48|climateprediction.net|Sending scheduler request to http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi 10/08/2006 09:22:48|climateprediction.net|Reason: Requested by user 10/08/2006 09:22:48|climateprediction.net|Requesting 172800 seconds of new work 10/08/2006 09:22:53|climateprediction.net|Scheduler request succeeded 10/08/2006 09:22:53|climateprediction.net|Message from server: No work sent 10/08/2006 09:22:53|climateprediction.net|Message from server: (there was work but you don\'t have enough disk space allocated) 10/08/2006 09:22:53|climateprediction.net|Message from server: Not enough disk space (only 354.9 MB free for BOINC). Review preferences for maximum disk space used. 1GB is set aside for cpdn and I think a lot of old data is not being deleted. (I run seti as well but that clears OK). Thank you for your help. David |

Hi, ZoneAlarm should be OK, I use it myself. Sleep mode could be the problem, Boinc doesn\'t like Sleep, Hibernate, or turning off the hard disk. If you go into the climateprediction.net folder, you should find that there are subfolders underneath it for each crashed model. You can delete these subfolders. Thanks Mike, Deleting two subfolders cleared 576MB which was more than enough to allow cpdn to restart. 3) How do you get the box of stats to appear in you posts? Looks good to see the stats foe all one\'s projects ... Many thanks, David |

You create them in conjunction with external sites, such as Neil Munday\'s site, or the BOINC Synergy site. I\'m not sure where in the latter to find the info. |
