I followed the instructions after a search for \'dual core\' told me to update my prefs and then update the project.

I was orig set a 2 cpus max, update w/ orig 2 cpu did not work. I changed home prefs to 3, and updated - no joy. Ditto with general prefs.

I went from A64 3200 to A64 X2 4400. Only one cpu detected and in use. Advice urgently requested.

<sigh>
Let that be a lesson to me. While the BIOS detected the dual core, the initial install had been single core. Duh!

A system update with the Suse 10 DVD fixed the problem in about ten minutes.

As soon as the BOINC manager started, it started a second Hadsm... downloading.

Problem solved - replace the operator. :-}
