Hello. I just started a new WU and it works fine, but when I suspend, it removes data from the memory, so when I next time turn on BOINC client, it starts from the same time from past. I have looked at my preferences: to leave in memory -> yes, although when I suspend a WU it says: Fri 08 Dec 2006 05:20:56 PM CST|climateprediction.net|Pausing result hadcm3ohc_1ujd_05634592_1 (removed from memory) Fri 08 Dec 2006 05:20:59 PM CST||request_reschedule_cpus: process exited I guess my client doesn\'t know that it should keep it in memory, but how to set it to get its preferences? As I click on Update button, I can see: Fri 08 Dec 2006 05:21:35 PM CST|climateprediction.net|Sending scheduler request to http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi Fri 08 Dec 2006 05:21:35 PM CST|climateprediction.net|Reason: Requested by user Fri 08 Dec 2006 05:21:35 PM CST|climateprediction.net|Note: not requesting new work or reporting results Fri 08 Dec 2006 05:21:40 PM CST|climateprediction.net|Scheduler request to http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi succeeded What should I do? Is it possible to correct this with editing some text file in my BOINC directory? I could write \'yes\' into some line instead of \'no\'. |

There is an alternative file arrangement written-up on boinc development pages. So far, I haven\'t found the link. (It\'s somewhere on these Boards, in Windows, perhaps.) Edit: Found discussion of the override file here, though you\'d have to use the applicable parameter line from global_prefs.xml ( <leave_apps_in_memory /> ) http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/forum_thread.php?id=5008&nowrap=true#25064 http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/forum_thread.php?id=5008 "We have met the enemy and he is us." -- Pogo Greetings from coastal Washington state, the scenic US Pacific Northwest. |
