In the 4th line in the messages below it says that the pc has 2 processors (correct) and the benchmarks at the end tells me the PC has only 1 processor. I updated my general preferences in my account but don\'t know what to further to correct this. 16/12/2006 17:41:24||Starting BOINC client version 5.2.13 for windows_intelx86 16/12/2006 17:41:24||libcurl/7.14.0 OpenSSL/0.9.8 zlib/1.2.3 16/12/2006 17:41:24||Data directory: C:\\Downloads\\BOINC 16/12/2006 17:41:24||Processor: 2 GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6600 @ 2.40GHz 16/12/2006 17:41:24||Memory: 1023.04 MB physical, 2.40 GB virtual 16/12/2006 17:41:24||Disk: 149.04 GB total, 115.92 GB free 16/12/2006 17:41:24|climateprediction.net|Computer ID: 511140; location: ; project prefs: default 16/12/2006 17:41:24||General prefs: from climateprediction.net (last modified 1970-01-01 01:00:00) 16/12/2006 17:41:24||General prefs: using your defaults 16/12/2006 17:41:25||Remote control not allowed; using loopback address 16/12/2006 17:41:25|climateprediction.net|Resuming computation for result hadcm3ohe_1iqu_05719288_0 using hadcm3 version 515 16/12/2006 17:41:25||Suspending work fetch because computer is overcommitted. 16/12/2006 17:41:25||Using earliest-deadline-first scheduling because computer is overcommitted. 16/12/2006 17:41:52||request_reschedule_cpus: project op 16/12/2006 17:41:56|climateprediction.net|Sending scheduler request to http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi 16/12/2006 17:41:56|climateprediction.net|Reason: Requested by user 16/12/2006 17:41:56|climateprediction.net|Note: not requesting new work or reporting results 16/12/2006 17:42:01|climateprediction.net|Scheduler request to http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi succeeded 16/12/2006 17:47:10||Suspending computation and network activity - running CPU benchmarks 16/12/2006 17:47:10|climateprediction.net|Pausing result hadcm3ohe_1iqu_05719288_0 (left in memory) 16/12/2006 17:47:12||Running CPU benchmarks 16/12/2006 17:48:11||Benchmark results: 16/12/2006 17:48:11|| Number of CPUs: 1 16/12/2006 17:48:11|| 2248 double precision MIPS (Whetstone) per CPU 16/12/2006 17:48:11|| 4481 integer MIPS (Dhrystone) per CPU 16/12/2006 17:48:11||Finished CPU benchmarks 16/12/2006 17:48:12||Resuming computation and network activity 16/12/2006 17:48:12||request_reschedule_cpus: Resuming activities 16/12/2006 17:48:12|climateprediction.net|Resuming result hadcm3ohe_1iqu_05719288_0 using hadcm3 version 515 |

In your preferences, is the machine set to use at most one CPU on multi-CPU machines? If so, that\'ll account for it. "We have met the enemy and he is us." -- Pogo Greetings from coastal Washington state, the scenic US Pacific Northwest. |

Thanks, no, I have put the value \"On multiprocessors, use at most\" at 2 on the \"your account\" page and updated the project now more than a dozen times. I want that second cpu to work on a project but still I get the message \"Note: not requesting new work or reporting results\". The 3rd button on the project tabsheet shows \"no new work\" so I guess the client should fetch new work. But if the benchmark only finds one cpu, I guess the client is not going to ask the server for more. |

There is a problem with the prefs not updating back to the user\'s computers. This will not get fixed until the next server software update. This is talked about, along with a \'local\' fix, here in the Preferences section. |
