I had to reinstall windows on my pc. When I reinstalled Boinc I now have five seperate climateprediction.net tasks running at the same time. This locks my pc up and I have to reboot. Is there a way to remove four of the tasks so I just have one again? When I abort one it just comes right back. |

After having seen this issue a few times on your machine -- and before making yet another post on this issue -- perhaps you should have read the sentence at the top of the Windows page and used the \"Search\" feature. Eh? Among other posts, the word \"suspend\" gives you this: http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/forum_thread.php?id=5221&nowrap=true#26345 Edit: Which of the machines in your record are you inquiring about? It\'s quite a range. Also, on a given CPU, only one Model runs at a time, boinc sees to it -- by switching according to your Preferences. If your machine locks-up there is/are (an)other issue(s) -- such as too little memory for what you\'re asking it to do. THAT sets up a situation that can over-tax the machine. It\'s paging/swapping. Eventually, one can expect Windoze to trip over its feet trying to manage it, thanks to memory fragmentation.
