I\'ve had to uninstall BOINC for the time being as it freezes my computer and will not work. I\'ve SETI on this computer with no problem, and can\'t understand why this won\'t work. I\'m running Win982e on an HP Pavilion 8655C. I can install the program, and it will start downloading projects, then will freeze partway through. It also makes the computer run extremely slowly. Are there settings in Preferences which I should be using rather than the defaults?

Boinc 4.0 is currently not compatible with win 98, win 98SE or win ME, their working on a fix.

Be advised this build hasn't been vetted by the Alpha team. I do need somebody who is adventurous to tell me if this build helped out at all though.
