Climate Prediction has ben running for 30 hours now non-stop with no break for Seti/Einstein/Rosetta/Beta Test with their status on \"Waiting to Run\". Prefrences set at 60 mins cannot get my head round this. Please advise. Maybe I should not complain! Sturap |

It could be Long Term Debt. (LTD) BOINC Wiki Lots of patience is needed when you add a climate model to other projects. It\'s best to leave it alone, until BOINC sorts itself out. |

Hi Sturap Your computer is 1.6GHz which is the minimum speed CPU recommended to run a climate model. If you\'re not letting the computer run boinc projects 24/7, you may need to consider whether you can run so many other projects as well as cpdn, because these climate models are such big workunits. Yur computer has the required memory so that\'s not a problem. You\'ve had a couple of models crash with -107 errors. I\'d suggest going to the READMEs in my signature. In the one called Running the model, look at the top tips. And in the README about avoiding crashes, I\'d recommend items 1 by Les, 5 by Mike and 6 by Thyme. Cpdn news |

Les, Many thanks for the info most useful and interesting. As a new entrant I find the scientific plus the programe learning curve fascinating. Cheers, Sturap |

The News section (link in my sig) provides info about some of the scientific results. And of course the Climate Science link in the menu on the left here. Other research institutes process ensembles of models for climate prediction, but we\'re the only ones doing it on home computers, not a supercomputer. Our results are as far as I can see just as reliable. Cpdn news |
