I'm afraid not - not yet! Perhaps Marting (as author of this excelent add-on) will have more details about ETA. Martin wrote 2 weeks ago: "As soon as there is some way to access the model under boinc, I'll update them both. At the moment there is no equivalent of cpdnshmem.dll through which to access it." See for more - http://www.climateprediction.net/board/viewtopic.php?p=19116#19116 |

The ability to watch threads on the old board made life much easier. There is no ETA as yet on a boinc enabled CPView - it's whenever Carl gets the time to create the shared memory but that's not a priority for the team as I understand it because the boinc version won't be used by the Open University course and so there is no direct requirement from the project for extra visualisation at the moment. You can use the current CPView with the files in the boinc\projects\climateprediction.net\\dataout directory. It just doesn't display the live data yet. |

Hi Martin, thanks for answer - this is what i though already. There is a way to watch thread by subscribing to it - it's at the top of each thread. Agree that life with classic forum is much easier - i still miss many feature: 'view post since your last visit' to mention one of most crucial. I already checked CPView with BOINC completed model and it work just fine. I also noted about 0.5C diffrence in above surface temperature comparing to web-graph; perhaps a slight shift on y axis? I still hope and pray that Carl will make time to make this shared DLL - it would enable to monitor model progress (CPFarmView monitoring both classic and BOINC!) and other things. One that cames to my mind was already mentioned - some mechanism that will know that models goes wrong to upload and new model download would be suggested to user. So far (even with fixed 3-times rewind) models goes without control till the end... > Sorry I didn't see this sooner.
