I just need to know if it was a hardware failure. My computer seems to run steady enough and is not o/c\'ed. ChrisD |

Exit code 22 is a fairly general error number, there are several things which can cause it. The following extract comes from the error text displayed on that result\'s page: ... I don\'t think this is caused by hardware failure - most likely some sort of clash with something running on the PC. Do you recall what was happening on the PC when it happened? It is worthwhile browing through the various READMEs for background information on the models, and backup instructions. I'm a volunteer and my views are my own. News and Announcements and FAQ |

The link to that result\'s page is here: http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/result.php?resultid=7051692 Unfortunately because there is a lot of text in the error log section, we can\'t see what actually caused the problem (it only shows the first 64k of the message). All I can do is point you towards the readme files, in particular the \'crashes and other problems\' one, and the \'backups and restores\' one. Your model ran for a good long time before it crashed, so your PC looks like it is happy running them. There are some general tips I can suggest: * \'Exit\' Boinc before shutting down windows * \'Suspend\' Boinc before running games / media encoding / anything else which uses the PC very heavily for 15 minutes or more * Take a backup at intervals so if a crash happens, you can restore from the backup * Run without the screensaver I'm a volunteer and my views are my own.
