My free disk space is 60.15 GB, yet BOINC is only using 163.75 MB. My settings allow for 50% when active and 90% when idle. Yet, with the current usage, it appears to only be using less than 0.3%. Is there a way to have more of my space used for this project? - Ian |

I think that you\'re confusing disk space with memory usage. 50% and 90% sounds like the default memory settings, which can be changed on your Account page on the server. The BOINC folder can get up to around 1GB, depending on the number and type of models. 163.75MB could just be what is used by a model that\'s just starting. Most of the model is held in memory, and only written to the HD at \'checkpoints\'. Backups: Here |

In addition to which, both the disk space and memory usage figures are maximums, rather than a requested amount. So it\'ll use up-to whatever percentage you specify. I'm a volunteer and my views are my own. News and Announcements and FAQ |

A thought ocurred to me overnight: If you really want to use lots of hard disk space, find the option to turn on Recording. This will, in the long term, use up terabytes of disk space. I\'m not sure how fast it uses space, but a few hours of recording the model should use a large number of gigabytes. |
