Once again BOINC isn\'t working! I want this software GONE ALL OF IT. NO results will be saved or sent. I guess I\'m tired of errors, tired of not getting help. I\'m a Brain injured guy! I can barely READ! I cannot focus my attention enough to fix these issues. NO MORE I stopped doing anything for The other site, I will not mention. Now it\'s your turn. In PLAIN ENGLISH please tell me how to \"get rid of the software and ALL FILES so I can just move on. I use XP and Vista, so please be kind enough to include PLAIN INSTRUCTIONS for BOTH. Paul Hinz |

Hi Paul, welcome to the forum. When you say you\'re tired of not getting help, could you please tell us whether you\'ve previously posted on any of the ClimatePrediction forums and not received a response to your queries. The moderators and members here do try always to respond to queries, usually within a few hours. I\'ve looked on your project web pages at the sort of errors your climate models have crashed with on both your Vista and your XP computer. Both look like good computers and most of the model crashes probably have similar causes, easy to explain and avoid in the future. If you do want to continue crunching and you want us to explain how to avoid these model crashes, let us know and we should be able to give you the advice you need. If you still want to stop crunching for BOINC projects completely, in your BOINC manager advanced view * In the Projects tab, highlight each project in turn then click the Reset button. This will get rid of the climate model files. * In the same Projects tab, highlight each project you\'re attached to then click the Detach button for each project in turn. * To remove BOINC itself, select Start/Control Panel/Add or Remove Programs. Select BOINC, then click Remove. This removes the BOINC software. Any workunits in progress aren\'t deleted. * To completely remove BOINC, delete the BOINC data directory (usually C:\\Program Files\\BOINC). You may find there\'s little or nothing left in the BOINC folder if you\'ve already done a Reset and Detach for each project. * You\'ll need to do this separately on each computer. * The official BOINC uninstalling advice is on this page: http://boinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/trac/wiki/ReleaseNotes We can\'t delete your CPDN registration, even if you detach your computers from the project. Everybody who\'s ever registered remains on the server database. So you could if you wish still continue posting on the forum even after you\'ve detached your computers. If you wish you could go into your account and edit your profile to delete the information you gave . I don\'t think it\'s possible to completely delete a profile once it\'s been created but you could change your username to something random like XXXX or just PH. If I were you, I think I\'d just leave the profile content the way it is because it\'s a really nice profile. If you ever want to rejoin CPDN, you\'d need to attach as an existing member (because you\'d still be on the database) and use the same password again. But if instead you want advice on how to make it all run properly, just let us know. Cpdn news |

A bit simpler: First Exit from BOINC (in the menu of the manager window.) Next, Uninstal the BOINC program using Windows Uninstal Start / Control panel / Add or Remove Programs Finally, use Windows Explorer to delete the BOINC folders. The default location is C:\\Program Files\\BOINC, but it will be where ever you installed it to. |

You know I\'ve done a lot of work built this unit with this in my mind. Yep. Well it\'s gone now at least from Vista, AS soon as I can reboot It\'ll be off XP. Thanks for your help! Now these issues are your issues. I did as you suggested. I redid my User profile. |
