Are you saying you were given extra credits when you completed a WU? I thought this problem was fixed... <a href="http://www.boinc.dk/index.php?page=user_statistics&project=cpdn&userid=355"><img border="0" height="80" src="http://355.cpdn.sig.boinc.dk?188"></a> |

I have noticed when I started or signed up it mentioned about wu credits (or cobblestones) what are these meant to represent?? |

Credits are measured in "Cobblestones" which is a means of using a common unit of measurement across all BOINC Projects. Pre BOINC Projects would count only Work Units completed. Such a simplistic calculation is no longer possible under BOINC, as you can run WUs for multiple Projects, with each Project WU being of a different size. Therefore to get a fair measurement of volunteer cpu effort expended for the infamous stats on each Project, the "Cobblestone" was born The core definition of a Cobblestone: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/credit.php Crdits outlined in CPDN: http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/download_main.php#credit Example of one use of Credits in CPDN - league table of participant cpu effort expended. http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/top_users.php Zy |

It appears that projects don't earn credits at the same rate...my RAC for CPDN is in the 90's while Seti is ~19. Both are running equally (swapping every hour)... What are others' experience with the different projects and how fast credits are earned... thanks... - bob |

Since CPDN WUs don't need to wait verification from two other hosts, credit is always going to be granted much more quickly. <a href="http://www.boinc.dk/index.php?page=user_statistics&project=cpdn&userid=355"><img border="0" height="80" src="http://355.cpdn.sig.boinc.dk?188"></a> |
